how to clean wet carpet

Advice on buying a wet carpet cleaner?

I have a cream colored carpet in my living room, and what with two dogs who always looks dirty! I was thinking of buying a carpet cleaner wet, somthing like a Vax, these are good? Does any one out there has one, or simulate somthing? Any suggestions welcome!

I bought one that is a wet cleaner and it worked fine for a while but then started to leave water marks on the carpet. My sister bought a carpet steam cleaner and works much better ... I think I find one of them.
